Compliance Standards

The standards behind your account: how we verify clients, hold client money, handle your trades and your data, and deal with complaints.

What our standards mean for you.

Compliance is the part of a broker you rarely see, yet it shapes every step of your account: who can open one, where your money sits, how your orders are filled, what happens to your personal data and what you can do if something goes wrong. Clarity Markets is regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius, and this page sets out the standards we work to under that regulation.

How we verify and protect accounts.

Before a live account is funded we confirm who you are and where you live, as Mauritius anti-money-laundering law requires. The same checks protect honest clients from impersonation and account takeover.

01

Identity and address

A valid government-issued photo ID and a proof of address dated within the last three months.

02

A liveness check

A short selfie capture matched against your photo ID, to confirm you are the person the document belongs to.

03

Sanctions and PEP screening

Every client is screened at onboarding and re-screened daily against the UN, EU, UK and US sanctions lists, and checked against politically exposed person databases.

04

Enhanced review where risk calls for it

PEP status, a link to a high-risk jurisdiction, an initial deposit above $50,000 or unusual activity triggers Enhanced Due Diligence, with written approval from a senior compliance officer before the account is activated.

Our full approach is set out in our AML & CTF Policy, and the documents we may ask for are listed in AML and Source of Funds.

How your money is held.

Client money is held in segregated accounts with our banking partners, apart from the money Clarity uses to run its business. Segregation is a condition of our licence, not an internal policy we can vary at will.

Client money is never used for Clarity’s hedging, operating or proprietary activity.

At the end of each business day, balances on the trading platform are reconciled against the bank’s records.

An independent audit firm reviews our segregation controls every year, alongside our statutory audit.

Where applicable and subject to your Client Agreement, negative balance protection means you do not lose more than your total deposits.

Important: Segregation is legal separation of money, not deposit insurance. It does not protect against trading losses.

How it works, step by step, is on our segregated client funds page.

How your trades are handled.

Every CFD you open is a contract with Clarity, and we act as your counterparty. Two published policies set out how your orders are priced and filled, and how we stop our interests from being put ahead of yours.

Best execution

We take all sufficient steps to obtain the best possible result for you on a consistent basis, judged chiefly on total cost: the price plus every cost you bear, such as spread and commission.

Monitored and reviewed

We check execution quality on an ongoing basis, and review the policy and the arrangements behind it at least once a year.

Conflicts kept in check

Compliance and risk work independently of the parts of the business that earn revenue, and information barriers, pay rules and a conflicts register keep client interests first.

Your order, on request

Ask how a particular order was executed and we will show you, from our records, that it was handled in line with our Order Execution Policy.

Read the Order Execution Policy and the Conflicts of Interest Policy in full.

Compliance decisions

Records are kept on access-controlled systems, encrypted at rest and with full audit logging. Only authorised compliance and legal staff can retrieve them, along with regulators and law enforcement acting lawfully.

Protecting your personal data.

We collect the personal data a regulated broker needs to know who you are, run your account and meet our legal duties. It is protected by encryption in transit and at rest and by controls over who can reach it, and a Data Protection Officer oversees how we look after it.

Your rights

See the personal data we hold about you, and correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.

Ask us to erase data we have no lawful reason to keep. Records the FSC requires us to retain stay until that period ends.

Stop or restrict certain uses of your data, and object to direct marketing at any time.

Ask for a review of any decision made about you purely by automated means.

Withdraw any consent we rely on.

Write to our Data Protection Officer at compliance@claritymarketsfx.com. You can also complain to the Data Protection Office of Mauritius at any time. The detail is in our Privacy Policy, and how to keep your own login safe is on our security page.

Clear complaints handling.

If something has gone wrong, tell us. Complaining costs you nothing, and every complaint is recorded and handled in the same way.

01

Email the complaints team

Write to compliance@claritymarketsfx.com with your name, account number, what happened and when, and the outcome you would like. Please raise it within 12 months of becoming aware of the issue.

02

Acknowledged within two business days

You receive a unique reference number and the name or team handling your complaint.

03

A final response within eight weeks

It sets out what we found, our reasons and, where we agree with you, the remedy. If exceptional circumstances mean it will take longer, we write to you before then.

04

Take it further if you are not satisfied

The Office of the Ombudsperson for Financial Services (Mauritius) reviews complaints from eligible complainants free of charge, and the FSC oversees how licensees treat clients.

Read the Complaints Handling Policy in full.

Reporting a concern.

If you suspect that your account, another client or a member of staff is being used for money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud or sanctions evasion, tell our compliance team at compliance@claritymarketsfx.com or through our contact form.

Whistleblowers acting in good faith are protected under Mauritius law, and we do not retaliate against staff or clients for reports made through these channels.

If someone using our name asks you for money, a password or a code, it is not us. Our security page explains what to do.

Why this matters when you choose a broker.

A broker’s standards are easiest to judge before you need them. Every commitment on this page comes from a document you can read today, and all of them are published on our legal documents page.

Risk Warning: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.
