Trading hours across every market.
Forex runs 24/5 from the Sydney open to the New York close. Crypto runs 24/7. Equities, commodities, and indices follow their underlying exchanges. Here is when each one is open — in UTC and in MT5 server time.
The 24-hour FX clock
Four sessions, one continuous market. Sydney opens the week, Tokyo and London hand off through the European morning, and New York carries the close.
All four FX sessions overlap in pairs throughout the day. The London/New York overlap (13:00–17:00 UTC) is when liquidity peaks and major-pair spreads are tightest.
Holiday schedule
Per-symbol trading hours for every market holiday. Closed markets show in red, early closes in amber. Liquidity also thins on partial-holiday days even where markets stay open — expect wider spreads.

Where the sessions overlap
Liquidity is not constant across the trading day. The overlaps decide where spreads tighten and where they widen.
London / New York
The deepest liquidity window of the FX week. Both money centres are open, US economic data releases land in this band, and major-pair spreads sit at their tightest. Tick volume across the majors peaks during this window.
- Tightest spreads on majors
- US data releases (NFP, CPI, FOMC) hit during this window
- Highest tick volume across major pairs
Tokyo / London
A short, quieter overlap as Asian liquidity hands off to Europe. Asian-session crosses can see directional moves at the London open as European desks reposition.
- Short one-hour handoff
- Active across Asian-session crosses
- Watch the London open for breakouts
New York close
Liquidity thins as London desks close and only New York remains. Spreads can widen on minors and exotics, and slippage risk increases. Many traders avoid placing new positions in the final hour before the daily reset at 22:00 UTC.
- Wider spreads on minors and exotics
- Higher slippage risk into the daily rollover
- Daily settlement at 22:00 UTC

MT5 server time vs. UTC
Every candle, order timestamp, and history record in your MT5 terminal is stamped in server time — not your local clock and not UTC. Knowing the offset stops a lot of avoidable confusion.
The Clarity trade server runs GMT+2 (EET) in northern winter and GMT+3 (EEST) during European summer time. The shift happens on the same dates as European DST.
