How to use the Margin calculator

Estimate how much capital you’ll lock up to open a position.

01

Pick your instrument

Choose what you want to trade and your account currency — results are denominated in that currency.

02

Enter your lot size

1 lot = 100,000 units on Forex. Use decimals (0.10 = a mini lot) to dial in the size you want.

03

Choose your leverage

Match it to the leverage on your account. Higher leverage means less margin locked up, but the same risk if the trade moves against you.

04

Read the result

Required Margin is what’s locked up while the trade is open.

CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. 80% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs.
